Hi there girls and boys,
Here is the homework for this week if you are in my set, which needs to be commented on by 23/10/09. We are working on punctuation, again! We need to keep doing this, it’s very important and we seem to be forgetting a lot of it in our writing.
Click on the link below and have a read of the notes on the different types of punctuation. When you have done this have a play on the punctuation games. Finally, try the quiz to see how you get on! Make sure you leave a comment with your score on afterwards!
Mr Marshall’s vegetable plot is shaped in the form of a trapezium. From it he wishes to make two plots of equal area, each of which is to be a trapezium.
The split can be done in more than one way.
The split can always be done so that one of the two plots is a parallelogram.
Mr Marshall’s preferred split is one in which the dividing line is parallel to the parallel lines of the original plot.
Investigate the truth of statements (i) and (ii).
As an extension, find one or more ways which will allow Mr. Marshall’s to have his preference for iii.
If you get stuck remembering definitions, have a look at this maths dictionary to help, it’s really good!

Today, 15th October 2009, the year 5′s had a interesting morning participating in Living History. Living History are theatre group that come into school every year to bring history to life. This group assisted the year 5′s knowledge of World War 2 by reinacting a day in the life of an evacuee.
They looked at rationing and the black market they realised how it affected their cooking and lifestyle. By experiencing the sounds of an air raid and pretending to sit inside an Anderson shelter give the children an insight into how frightening it would be.
