Click on the link below to read a variety of poems. Think about the language used in them. Is there good imagery? Are similies or metaphors used? Are there any expressions you like? Which was your favourite poem?

Remember to post me your response by Friday.

With your family, discuss which 3 famous people, living or dead, you would like to have come to tea at your house. Who would you choose and more importantly why?

Write your guests and the reasons why you’ve chosen them below.

If you can’t post a comment on the blog site for any reason, write your list and reasons in your literacy book.  I look forward to reading your responses!

Hi everyone!

Here are the games that I would like you to keep playing on for homework. It’s slightly different this week, you have the last few days of this week and next week to complete them. So, I think you should go on them every day and try and improve your score each time. Feel free to leave me a comment every time you do too!

In the first one you have to set yourself targets to beat…

http://www.oswego.org/ocsd-web/games/SumSense/summulti.html

The next one relates to our whole school target which is finding fractional amounts of different quantities…

And the last one is another game on fractions, decimals and percentages.

If you find anymore great games yourself leave a comment below with the link in.

Have fun!

This week you have a piece of talking homework, which I am sure you will all be very good at!

Discuss this topic with everyone you get the chance to, family when you’re having tea, friends on the playground and Grandma and Grandad when they’re looking after you…

This week, the question is:

What do goldfish dream about?

Think carefully about your answers and give reasons why you think that.

Post your comments below….

Happy thinking!

On Thursday 10th December, the Year 5′s (including the teachers) all dressed up in outfits from the decades between 1950′s to 2000′s! In the morning, each class watched presentations about each decade, which were given and created by fellow classmates.  In the afternoon everybody enjoyed a picnic and played some games from the various decades.  Here are the pictures from the day! Please leave a comment about the outfits, or the day in general!
